E-commerce & product liability
Built for sellers
at scale.
We insure a large number of major online retailers and sellers. Their risks are rarely ordinary: many entities, many products, many channels. We read the coverage line by line, write it to fit the business, and take it to the broadest range of markets.
The work
We read it.
Every exclusion, definition, and endorsement, measured against how the business actually operates.
We write it.
Wording shaped around the exposure, with carve-outs negotiated for the risks that matter most.
We place it widely.
Very broad market access, so the program is built from the best available terms rather than the nearest.
We stand behind it.
Advocacy with underwriters at placement and with the carrier when a claim arrives.
Who we work with
Large online retailers.
Complicated structures.
Many of our clients are among the largest online retailers and sellers. They operate through several entities, carry thousands of products, ship across borders, and sell through marketplaces and their own storefronts. Brand owners, private-label sellers, and importers sit alongside them.
At that scale, a small gap in the wording can become a large uninsured loss. That is where we spend our time.
How we work
Reading, writing,
placing, defending.
Exclusion review
We go through the exclusions one at a time and ask what each would do to a real claim. Many policies take away the very exposure the client thought it was buying.
Carve-outs and tailored wording
Where a form falls short, we negotiate endorsements and modified wording that fit the business. The aim is a policy built for this client, not a standard form with a different name on it.
Heavy-liability exposures
Some products and services carry far more liability than others, including those connected with the medical and health fields. These need coverage crafted for the exposure, and the right markets to carry it.
Very broad market access
We work across a wide field of carriers and markets. That breadth lets us compare real alternatives and bring back the strongest terms available.
Advocacy with underwriters
We present each account as an underwriter needs to see it, and we negotiate directly. Weak points are addressed up front, not left to be found.
Claims advocacy
When a claim arrives, we stay with it. We press the carrier on its coverage position and see the claim through to resolution.
Where coverage is decided
The limit is on the cover page.
The coverage is in the exclusions.
Two policies with the same limit can respond very differently to the same claim. The difference sits in the exclusions, the definitions, and the endorsements that quietly modify both. A single exclusion for a product category, a type of claim, a service, or a territory can remove coverage for the exact exposure the client cares about.
So we read the whole policy, not the summary. We ask what is excluded, what is defined narrowly, what is sublimited, and what each term would do on a bad day. Then we go back to the carrier and negotiate it: narrower exclusions, broader definitions, and endorsements written to restore what the form took away.
Entity structure, territory, vendor and additional-insured terms, recall, and the requirements set by marketplaces and customers all get the same close reading. For a business at this scale, they decide whether the program holds.
When the exposure is heavy
Coverage crafted for
what the risk requires.
Not every product or service carries the same weight of liability. Some, including those connected with the medical and health fields, carry a great deal. Standard forms often fit these exposures poorly, and many carriers have little appetite for them.
For these accounts we do the harder work. We study how the exposure actually arises, identify what a standard form would leave out, and build the coverage around it. Then we take it to the markets that can carry it, and we negotiate the terms the client needs. The aim is coverage that responds to the claims the business is most likely to face.
Market access
Very broad access.
Used with judgment.
Access matters most when it is paired with knowing how to use it. We work across a wide range of markets, and we know how to read what each one offers, how to write the terms we need, and how to draw the best from the broadest field.
Quotes are compared on equivalent wording, so the decision rests on coverage as well as price. Where a placement is made outside the admitted market, we explain the differences that come with it, including guaranty fund protection, which varies by state, and surplus lines taxes and fees.
When a claim comes
The wording we negotiate
is the wording we defend.
A policy is tested when a claim is made. We know the terms because we helped shape them, and we use that knowledge when the carrier takes a position. If coverage is questioned, restricted, or denied, we review the carrier’s reasoning against the policy and press the client’s case. Payment depends on the facts and the coverage in force, and our job is to present the client’s case thoroughly and pursue what is due.
